More precisely, at the end of 2018 in Romania there were 19.9 million mobile internet connections, and 5.1 million fixed internet connections, the investments made by RCS & RDS, and the other operators, bringing the technology to the homes of most Romanians in recent years of days.

Internet traffic registered by RCS & RDS customers, and other telecom operators, doubled in 2018 to 2.6 GB/month per user, the market leader having a 40% share, the main competitor 25%, while the rest were the 35 remaining % of the market share.

RCS & RDS. The mobile Internet has also evolved at a very fast pace, reaching 5.1 million connections in Romania at the moment, 7% more than the number recorded at the end of 2017. Of all connections, 69% currently have speeds of at least 100 Mbps, 13% have speeds between 30 Mbps and 100 Mbps, while the remaining 18% have speeds below 30 Mbps. 3.5 million of these connections are in urban areas, while 1.6 million are in rural areas, the discrepancy being large but normal, as long as RCS & RDS, and the other operators, do not cover many rural areas, even without fiber .
