I told you last week that The Romanian government is preparing a new strike for Digi Mobil, and the rest of the telecommunications operators, the obligation to display prices only in LEI will be imposed.

The obligation to display prices only in LEI in Romania will force telecommunications operators to make some changes to the value of the prices they impose for customers who use their services in our country. Now the telephone operators display all the prices in euros for the telecommunications services, but Digi Mobil, and the rest of the companies, will be forced by the Government to change their tactics, so the prices will be slightly modified.

Digi Mobil. Considering yesterday's result for the European Parliament elections, the government will definitely want to take some populist measures, but the one regarding the display of prices only in LEI is an extremely good one. Now the prices are fluctuating, because the value of the euro changes from one day to the next, generally increasing, so that Digi Mobil, and the rest of the telecom companies, will want to set higher prices than the current ones, to cover the possible changes exchange rate.
Digi Mobil. I don't think that the operators will set the prices in LEI at a current exchange rate, but at one higher than that of the BNR, and this to compensate not only for exchange rate fluctuations, but also for possible bank commissions. I think that the prices for the services offered by Digi Mobil, or other operators, could increase with values similar to those applied following the imposition of GEO 114/2018, which also brought a new turnover tax for telecommunications companies.
Digi Mobil. Having said that, it would be good to prepare for a new price increase from the moment the operators will be obliged to display the prices for services exclusively in LEI.
