Huawei is going to make a series of massive layoffs in the next period due to the problems it has at the global level due to the sanctions imposed by Donald Trump since April. Yesterday I told you that a factory where Huawei phones were produced was closed because the sanctions from the USA have so much affected its activity that it was impossible to continue the process of manufacturing mobile terminals.
Huawei will make these layoffs in the USA, within the subsidiaries there, mainly the named one Futurewei, around 850 people will be without a job very soon. Huawei offers those with Chinese nationality the opportunity to return to the country and work there for the company, but it is unlikely that many will leave the US just to have a job in this group.

Huawei has finally reached a point where it can do nothing but sustain its activity with the sanctions imposed by the USA, even if a slight improvement of the situation has been announced. We have known for some time that in the US the Chinese have many employees who work with many local companies from which they buy a lot of physical products, or software, for phones, telecommunications equipment, and other own products.

The layoffs are expected to affect workers at Huawei's US-based research and development subsidiary, Futurewei Technologies, according to these people. The unit employs about 850 people in research labs across the US, including in Texas, California and Washington state."
Considering this decision, the Chinese will have very big problems in continuing their research and development process for new technologies, but of course the Americans don't care too much about this. However, this is the biggest round of layoffs made by Huawei, at least from what we have learned so far, but things could become even more serious if the sanctions are not completely lifted by the American government.
For now, nothing that was known two weeks ago has changed, and the Chinese can't offer updates for Android, can't buy processors for phones, and still can't launch new ones.
