RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, offer the operators of the 112 emergency service geolocation for phone calls, but based on a triangulation made based on the GSM cell to which the phone from which the call is connected is connected. These locations are not accurate, at least according to STS, because RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, would provide a large area, of several kilometers, in which the caller would be, and this, apparently, because remained mobile technology in 2019.
RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, cannot provide exact location for help calls made to 112, but STS says that call 112 application it is the only chance for a person who needs help. The call 112 application was launched by STS last year, and it provides additional geolocation information beyond what RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom can provide, based on triangulation through GSM cells.

RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, provide information on the primary location for the 112 service, but the 112 call application also adds information taken from the phone's GPS, if it is active. Of course, you also need an internet connection, a prior registration in the system, and only then the information provided by the call 112 application can be combined with those from RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, to provide exact location, at only a few meters, or tens of meters, from the place where the victim is.
RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, cannot implement these technologies in phones, they must come from the manufacturers, but STS says that the ape 112 application already has 32.186 downloads on iOS and Android. Of these, only 409 calls were initiated by RCS & RDS, Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, to the 112 emergency service through this application, a very small number, but understandable, considering that it is something separate.
I don't know how many people think in an emergency situation to look for the 112 call application by phone to initiate the call with exact location, and so it is largely useless for the main purpose of 112, saving lives.
