use iPhone 11 Pro Max since Friday, when I published my first impressions about the new phone, and I must say that some things have changed compared to what I detailed to you then. After the two days of using the iPhone 11 Pro Max, I have to admit that Apple still did something that for some customers will motivate the upgrade from the previous series without discussion, but we are talking about specific cases and nothing more.
The ultra wide-angle camera makes all the difference
The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a new triple camera implemented by the Apple company, and the big news compared to the iPhone XS Max, or XS, is a third ultra wide-angle image sensor. The other two image sensors are identical to those of the iPhone XS, so the iPhone 11 Pro Max comes with an ultra wide-angle one that makes a big difference for photos and videos, although in low light conditions, without Night Mode, it is worse than the telephoto one.
Even so, the option to take pictures with the ultra wide-angle sensor for the iPhone 11 Pro Max is something that Apple should have offered for a very long time, because something like this was needed. The ultra wide-angle sensor can be used for almost any kind of photo taken with iPhone 11 Pro Max, including portrait, and it is one of the novelties that I really like, although other Android phone manufacturers have been offering this for several years.
Night Mode is also something extremely useful for the iPhone, but I will talk about that in a separate article.
Battery life is surprisingly good
Maybe it's a little too early to give a definitive opinion about the battery life of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but compared to the iPhone XS Max in these 2 days of use, it was clearly superior. I used the iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 13.1, and then with iOS 13.1.1, and it behaved the same in both situations, having a much lower download level than the iPhone XS Max while doing the same things on both .
Apple said that the new A13 chip is much more efficient from an energy point of view, and in what I have done with the iPhone 11 Pro Max so far, I can confirm that this is the case. Of course, iOS 13 reduced the autonomy of my iPhone XS Max quite a lot after installation, but even compared to what I had in iOS 12, iPhone 11 Pro Max still brings an improvement, so from this point of view it deserves praise.
Matte case
It's not a big news for the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but it's a change, and the matte phone case is much more interesting than you might think. First of all, it does not collect as many fingerprints as the glass one, secondly, it gives you the feeling that you are holding the phone much more "securely" in your hand, so you no longer have that feeling that you will drop it if it moves a little, which which will be a bonus for many users.
On the performance side, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone XS Max are identical, the screens have very hard to notice differences, the weight doesn't seem to be different, Face ID is just as fast. As a total experience, the camera brings the element of novelty thanks to Night Mode and the wide-angle sensor, but when you get out of it, it's the same iPhone we've known for years and years.
