RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Telekom, Orange, they have a lot of work to do in the coming months, and this is because they are preparing the launch of the new 5G mobile networks in Romania, but unfortunately they have a problem. At the moment, the Romanian Government is on the point of departure, and another one will come, together with another Minister of Communications, which will hold up the organization of the auction for the 5G frequencies in which RCS & RDS, and the other companies will participate.
RCS & RDS has already launched a 5G network, as has Vodafone, but both operate based on frequencies licensed in the past by operators, and to expand coverage and offer better services, they need the new frequencies. The problem is that the transition that Romania is going through now is going to make it difficult to organize the auction for the 5G frequencies desired by RCS & RDS, or the rest of the telecommunications companies in Romania.

RCS & RDS is currently expanding based on the 3600 Mhz frequency, just like Vodafone, although they use something different, but nothing will be 100% ready for Romanians until the new frequencies are used. Normally, by the end of this month, the documentation should be approved on the basis of which RCS & RDS, and other companies, will organize the auction for the 5G frequencies that will be used for the future networks.
RCS & RDS should receive the right to use the new frequencies by the end of this year, following an auction that will be scheduled by ANCOM until December, or even in December. The effective use of these frequencies by RCS & RDS, and other operators, should start somewhere from 2020, but everything also depends on how well they will manage to implement the necessary equipment to launch these networks.
RCS & RDS, Vodafone, Telekom, Orange are eager to launch 5G, but the latter won't do it until you have the legal framework, and the penultimate could wait for the sale in order not to make investments, if that happens.
