Why is Orange FORCING Customers to accept more EXPENSIVE Subscriptions?

Orange forces Romanian customers to accept more expensive subscriptions than the ones they have, this is what motivates the operator to take such a radical decision.

Orange obliges customers to subscribe

Orange obliges some of the customers in Romania to switch from their current subscriptions to more expensive ones, without the possibility of doing anything other than giving up the subscription completely and switching to the card or another operator. Orange started to notify its customers via SMS about this very important change a few weeks ago, and of course many people are unhappy, for quite logical reasons.

Orange forces some of the customers with cheap subscriptions, mainly those of 5 euros, to switch to subscriptions of at least 7 euros without being able to negotiate the change in any way, except if they want more expensive subscriptions. Orange says that it has customers who are forced to switch to more expensive subscriptions that should offer them greater benefits, but this does not happen in all cases, and of course people are a bit upset.

Why is Orange FORCING Customers to accept more EXPENSIVE Subscriptions?

In certain situations, Orange offers fewer international minutes and more internet traffic for those who change the cheaper subscriptions to the more expensive ones, and this is not exactly to everyone's liking. The difference seems small, of only 2 euros, for subscriptions, but for many it is about the principle itself of forcing people to change their subscription when they are satisfied with what they have, but Orange probably does this to increase its revenues.

"The signaled message is part of a timely repositioning campaign, addressed to customers with mobile service packages that are no longer part of the current commercial offer. The new subscriptions offered to Orange customers targeted by this campaign offer superior benefits, which better respond to current communication needs. Since it is a commercial campaign addressed only to certain categories of customers, it is not found on the orange.ro website, the targeted customers being informed punctually through other communication methods."

Orange made, like the rest of the telecom operators, price increases for subscriptions, but it masked everything in the form of a new offer of services, which are more expensive than those offered in the past. It is possible that Orange contacted those with cheap subscriptions and offered them to upgrade to more expensive subscriptions, and when they refused, it probably made the decision to force them to do so, or to give up subscriptions completely .

Orange is very harshly criticized for the decision to force customers to accept these more expensive subscriptions, and if some customers complain to the authorities, it is possible that there will be fines.
