Facebook managed to turn its live video streaming function into something that a lot of people use, sometimes in completely inappropriate ways, and other times in completely macabre ways. Today, however, we are talking about something completely different, because a US hospital broadcast LIVE on Facebook a brain surgery performed on a patient, and below you can see the 46-minute recording that was left behind.

Facebook was used by the Methodist medical center in Dallas, USA, to broadcast this brain surgery, and if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time the system has been used in such a way. The surgical intervention lasted no less than 4 and a half hours, but the hospital decided that only part of it would be broadcast on Facebook, and over 130.000 views have been generated so far for the recording.

Facebook has the live broadcast function used by people who want to kill themselves, who kill other people, who beat and rob other people, but now it is also used to save a life. The woman who appears in the recording was conscious throughout the brain surgery, and those who followed her on Facebook had the opportunity to see everything that happens to the human body when it is subjected to such a surgical intervention.

Facebook would demonstrate through this transmission the fact that it can also be used for good things, things from which people can still learn something, especially if they work in the medical field. Although not all of the surgery was broadcast, the surgery itself was a success, and the woman was recovering to be discharged today, and Facebook allowed the world to see what she experienced there.

Facebook has been heavily criticized over time because of the function that allows LIVE video transmissions, but for that its existence in the application should be praised.
