Android, iOS, SERIOUS Problem for over 150 MILLION Phones

Android, iOS, have over 150 million people who use the Truecaller application affected by an extremely serious problem with the application, here's what's happening.

Android, iOS are the most popular operating systems on the planet, accounting for over 99% of the global market share, and a very popular application in both, called Truecaller recently recognized a very serious problem. With over 150 million downloads worldwide on Android and iOS, the Truecaller app has put many people around the world at risk due to a bug that allowed people's data, GPS location, and more.

Android, iOS, had a technical demonstration by an IT security expert, who created a malicious link that demonstrates how the Truecaller application can be easily exploited to extract sensitive data from phones. Truecaller is an application for Android and iOS that was developed in Sweden, it allows the association of phone numbers with identities known to the company, but also the blocking of calls from unknown numbers.

Truecaller has an extremely serious problem on Android and iOS

Android and iOS have a lot of people who use Truecaller and this exploit allows the exploitation of phones from a distance even without the users knowing what is really happening in their devices. Everything is done by simply accessing a link from Android, iOS, and when this is done through the Truecaller application, the phone is exploited to extract certain data about its identification, but not only that, unfortunately.

Truecaller confirmed the problem for their application, but refused to confirm that the vulnerability is critical, but of course this was to be expected from them, considering that the situation is serious. On the other hand, Truecaller has announced that they have updated the Android and iOS apps to solve the problem, but of course people have to install the new versions, which many people don't do as often as they should.

Android, iOS, are the first such serious problems for the Truecaller application, but considering that the application could be exploited once, it can be assumed that this could happen again at any time.
