PRO TV shareholders want to BUY Telekom, what Orange and RCS & RDS are doing

Telekom could be sold to PRO TV shareholders, not Orange and RCS & RDS, here are the discussions held for the sale of existing assets in Romania.

PRO TV shareholders will BUY Telekom do Orange RCS & RDS

Telekom suddenly became an extremely interesting company on the European level, and that's because the investment group that recently bought CME, the group that also owns PRO-TV, is interested in buying the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary in Romania. Petr Kellner, the richest man in the Czech Republic, and CEO of the PPF investment group, which recently bought the parent company of PRO TV, is interested, along with several other billionaires, in buying Telekom in its entirety.

Telekom is targeted by the PPF investment group, which would have assets worth 45 billion euros at the moment, so an acquisition of the telecommunications operator would not be unusual or difficult to achieve. Before discussing with Telekom about the acquisition, one of the partners of this project discussed with the ambassadors of Greece and Germany about their plans, the companies that own the Romanian subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom having their bases there.

Telekom can be sold to PRO TV owners, not Orange and RCS & RDS

Telekom could therefore have a with a completely different buyer than initially expected, and Orange and RCS & RDS are the most seriously affected by the situation, and this is because Deutsche Telekom could choose the investment group. The reality is that the sale of Telekom in its entirety to an investment group would be much simpler than to Orange and RCS & RDS, and thus it would be possible to avoid the approval that the European Commission should give for the sale.

Telekom has already negotiated with Orange and would have reached an agreement regarding the sale, but it has not yet reached an agreement with RCS & RDS, and the latter situation is problematic, because the mobile division still does not have a buyer. This situation could matter a lot for Deutsche Telekom, which could decide to sell Telekom Romania to investment groups to quickly and easily get rid of all the assets, even if maybe at a lower price.

Telekom is currently waiting for an approval from the Romanian Government regarding the sale of the fixed services division to Orange, but considering what is happening, it is possible that things will change. The Romanian government could more easily approve the sale to the alliance of investment groups interested in buying Telekom and leave Orange or RCS & RDS with the obligation to look for other solutions for the problems they have.
