Orange Close to LOSING the Initiative in BUYING Telekom

Orange is very close to losing the initiative regarding the purchase of Telekom, here is a very strong competitor trying to steal its purchase.

Orange LOSES the Telekom PURCHASE initiative

Orange is close to losing the initiative regarding the purchase of Telekom, and this is because a coalition of investment groups would like to "blow the fixed services division from under the nose" of the French group, but not only that. According to the information I told you about this morning, the owner of PRO TV wants to buy Telekom Romania in total, but not alone, but together with other investment groups, and the plan is an extremely bold one.

Orange has already reached an agreement with Deutsche Telekom to buy Telekom's fixed services division, but the problem is that there is no buyer for the mobile services division, RCS & RDS wants to partially buy it. In this situation, those from Orange could lose the initiative regarding the acquisition of Telekom's fixed services division because the Germans could decide to sell everything to a single buyer, in order to get rid of the hassle.

Orange Close to LOSING the Initiative in BUYING Telekom

Orange is now waiting for an approval from the Romanian Government regarding the acquisition of the fixed services division, but it would also need an approval from the European Commission, and this is because it is a very important transaction. If an investment group without assets in the telecommunications sector were to buy Telekom, then it is possible that no approval would be needed from the European Commission, and this would greatly simplify the sale of Telekom, and would reduce the completion time.

Orange could end up in a very difficult situation if it does not complete the acquisition of Telekom, and this is because it is dependent on its fixed infrastructure to be able to offer its television and internet services in Romania. If Telekom will be bought by a foreign investment group, then Orange could have serious problems in convincing them to give it access to Telekom's infrastructure, and it would be left with no solutions in this regard.

Orange has had a few very difficult months, the investment groups interested in Telekom are already talking with the German and Greek ambassadors about their plans, so things are advancing at a fast pace.
