Huawei managed to obtain a new defiance of the USA and a serious blow for the Americans with the help of a partner from a country where the company still does not have the acceptance of everyone to operate. More precisely, those from Telefonica in Germany chose Huawei and Nokia to supply them with 5G telecommunications equipment, and this although the German government has not yet made a decision on allowing the purchase of equipment from the Chinese.
Huawei received a hard blow last week after Telekom announced that it will not buy 5G equipment from the Chinese until the German government decides whether this affects national security or not. Considering that the German government has not yet decided on this situation, those from Huawei remained in a state of waiting, but Telefonica seems to be decided not to wait until a decision is made at government level.

Huawei has the trust of Telefonica, present in Germany with the O2 brand, thanks to the close relationship it has with the group, which made the decision to use its 5G equipment including in Spain. Although Telefonica trusts Huawei, Deutsche Telekom does not, Orange stays away from them, Vodafone does the same, and British Telecom made a similar decision a few months ago, all waiting for a political decision on the issue.
"Mobile network provider Telefonica Deutschland has chosen Finland's Nokia and China's Huawei to build its 5G network in Germany. Telefonica said it wants to move faster to bring 5G networks to Germany as the German government works to finalize rules governing network providers."
Huawei now enjoys a very clear message that it is a reliable company, and that others should buy products from it, and this represents a strong blow to the US. It will be worse if the Germans decide to ban Huawei's 5G equipment, and those from Telefonica will be forced to replace them all, but until then it remains an important victory for the Chinese in this very long war.
Huawei has almost banned 5G equipment at the European level, and a European Commission directive is being prepared that could do this, but on the other hand, it no longer has the possibility to include Google applications in phones.
