Digi Mobil is the mobile phone operator owned by those from RCS & RDS, and whether some agree with the fact that a part of Telekom's mobile division could be bought by them, or not, this has chances to happen. Digi Mobil has been negotiating with Telekom for some time to buy the infrastructure of the mobile telephony division, but it doesn't really want to take the customers, a good part of them being attracted by porting anyway.
Digi Mobil needs the Telekom infrastructure very much to continue its activity in Romania, and this is because at the moment it is an operator of little importance in our country. A recent study by ANCOM places Digi Mobil with a market share of less than 18% in Romania, which puts the company at a great distance from those from Orange, Vodafone, but also at a considerable distance from the Telekom company .

Digi Mobil needs the infrastructure of those from Telekom to go beyond the category of "dozen" mobile phone operators in which it was included by those from ANCOM, but for that they will have to make big expenses. Digi Mobil has to make investments of hundreds of millions of euros just to buy the mobile telephony infrastructure of those from Telekom, taking over with all the customers could even cost several billion euros.
Digi Mobil has the necessary resources to make such an acquisition, even when we are talking about such a large infrastructure as that of Telekom, but of course it will want to do everything on its own terms. This is also the reason why those from Digi Mobil have been negotiating with Telekom for several months and have not reached any results, and these negotiations do not seem to be approaching any end, so the situation remains "up in the air" in the following months.
Digi Mobil will not be able to become a serious mobile operator in our country without the infrastructure of Telekom, but maybe in the end, with repeated attempts, it will be able to get what it wants.
