Digi Mobil made a very important announcement for all its customers in Romania, here's what will change starting on December 20 for them.

Digi Mobile roaming rates

Digi Mobil today made a very important announcement for customers in Romania, the operator owned by RCS & RDS making a major change from December 20 for all those who use its services. Today, Digi Mobil announced that starting from December 20, the tariffs for phone calls and mobile Internet roaming will be reduced, so that all those who talk on the phone or use the Internet will have lower costs.

Digi Mobil is going to reduce the tariff for roaming in the European Economic Area by 27%, from 0,0026 EUR/MB to 0,0019 EUR/MB, so we are talking about more traffic that people can do outside the country. It is interesting that Digi Mobil applies lower values than those that ANCOM approved as maximum values that mobile operators can apply for customers who travel in the EEA and use their phones.

Digi Mobil: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, what is CHANGING from December 20

Digi Mobil could have applied a higher value for the mobile internet traffic that its customers make while roaming, but it seems that it has chosen to go with a lower value, which is very good news. In the case of telephone calls, it is also about a price reduction for each minute used, the decrease being 15%, from EUR 0,0223/minute to EUR 0,019/minute, these prices including VAT, so they are final.

"Thus, the tariff for data in the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA) will be reduced by approximately 27%, from 0,0026 EUR*/MB to 0,0019 EUR/MB*, while the tariff for voice calls will decrease by approximately 15%, from EUR 0,0223* to EUR 0,019*/minute. These tariffs are more advantageous than the maximum values approved by the regulatory authority in the field of communications ANCOM."

Digi Mobil is the only operator in Romania that applies a surcharge for roaming due to the very low prices for subscriptions, but also the agreements with foreign partners, which are not as advantageous as in the case of other operators. ANCOM allowed them to do this because the European legislation in force also allows this, but at least Digi Mobil chose to apply prices for consumption that are lower than the maximum allowed by ANCOM.

Digi Mobil makes the announcement two days before the new tariffs come into force, the other operators choosing to reduce their tariffs for additional roaming consumption even from December 1.
