E-ALERT it was used again this evening, just a few minutes ago, to alert at least several hundred thousand Bucharest residents about a fire that is taking place in an area close to the exit from the Capital.
RO-ALERT was used by the ISU to alert people about a fire that would cause large smoke emissions, but also to request the release of the roads so that the firemen could reach the location faster.
RO-ALERT was used to send the messages to at least an entire sector of Bucharest, and that's because even though I live at a great distance from the location, I still received that message, and I'm sure that others also received it today.
RO-ALERT is being used for the third time, if I'm not mistaken, in Bucharest to alert the population about a fire, and I think that many people are starting to get tired of the messages, especially if they live at a great distance from them.
RO-ALERT was not launched with the objective of alerting the world to fires that are at a great distance from it, but it seems that the ISU does not really differentiate between the locations to which the messages are sent through the system.
