The representatives of the Romanian Government claim that the new chip ballots will allow citizens to interact more easily and quickly with state institutions, without standing in long queues at their counters when they need something.
According to the information provided by the authorities, citizens who will have a card reader at home will be able to use the new chip bulletin to log into the websites of some institutions and find out information about them, pay taxes, or have various documents issued official
As examples of use, the removal of a criminal record without going through the police was offered, and of course the payment of taxes, this digitalization being possible because the chip ballots have our identity information stored.
"We are trying to identify more solutions, so that the citizen is already equipped with what he needs to be able to log into the system. Through electronic mechanisms, your identity is certified and you can request the service you want to be provided."
The Romanian government is now looking for technical solutions to be able to facilitate this simple interaction between citizens and state institutions, and practically this is what many people have been asking for years and years from the Romanian state.
The problem now will be securing access to this information, and not only based on the information included in the chip bulletins, but we will probably find out more about this only after the Romanian Government has the new system ready for launch.
