Romanian police as of today, it has increased powers and can issue higher fines after a series of legislative changes began to produce their effects, so it is good to know what can happen from now on in Romania in contact with the authorities.

Romanian police he can first of all apply fines of 500-1500 LEI if we disturb our neighbors with music, noise, etc., and in case of recurrence the fine increases to 2000-3000 LEI, or work for the benefit of the community.

Romanian police may ask, in the case of an identification, that we keep our hands in sight and not use objects that can be used to attack the agents, something that of course has existed in civilized countries for a very long time already.

Romanian police can now take any person to the police station if their identity could not be established, if there are suspicions that it is not the real one, if the person is suspected of committing a crime, there they must be identified within a maximum of 8 hours (compared to 24 hours previously ), otherwise having to be released.

"At the end of January 2020, the amendments to several normative acts in the field of public order and safety come into force. The law establishes clear and transparent rules regarding identification procedures, body control, baggage or vehicle control, the conditions under which a person can be taken to the police headquarters and the situations in which the police can use force are presented, respectively, additional guarantees are introduced for compliance citizen's rights."

Romanian police must inform the persons taken to the department about: the reason for taking the measure before initiating it, the rights they have, the fact that they can be assisted by a lawyer/doctor and to contact their family, and to receive a copy of the process verbally made for taking the measurement.

Romanian police still has the right to enter any private property, in any way, even without the owner's consent, in order to save the life or bodily integrity of a person, if there are indications that he is in danger.
