Samsung: Android 10 and the bad news for some phones

Samsung maintains its position and bad news comes for some phone owners who were waiting for the release of the Android 10 update for them as well.

Samsung continues to release Android 10 for various phone models that it sells worldwide, even if they were launched recently, or just a few years ago. Unfortunately, for some of the customers who were eagerly waiting for the launch of Android 10 on the Samsung GALAXY S8 and Samsung GALAXY Note 8 phones, very bad news is now coming, and this is because the update will not be offered on them, despite statements from the company's employees .

Samsung did not include the Samsung GALAXY S8 and Samsung GALAXY Note 8 in the initial list of phones for which the Android 10 update will be offered, but the employees of the telephone support lines confirmed that it will come. This has happened repeatedly, so many customers had a false hope that Samsung will really release the update for these phone models, but unfortunately this will not happen for them.

Samsung: Android 10 and the bad news for some phones

Samsung guarantees updates with new versions of Android for phones for 2 years, and anything beyond this period is good to throw away, at least from their perspective. The strategy is the opposite of that of Apple, which offers the new versions of iOS for phones for 4-5 years, but Samsung follows a completely different path, so the Samsung GALAXY S8 and Samsung GALAXY Note 8 models will not benefit from a update to Android 10, despite all hopes.

Samsung moved much better with updates for Android 10 compared to last year, bringing the update to phones a month earlier than it did in 2018. This strategy could continue in 2020, with Samsung already testing Android 11 on some phone models, but it is unlikely that any extension of the period of offering updates will be made, and here comes the economic reason, Samsung's goal being to make money.

Samsung does not want to offer its customers longer support for Android updates despite Google's efforts to persuade it to do so, and that may not happen anytime soon.
