Telekom: Close to an Agreement with RCS & RDS for the Sale of the Mobile Division

Telekom would be close to an agreement to sell its mobile services division to RCS & RDS after already reaching an agreement with Orange back in 2019.

Telekom agree RCS & RDS

Telekom would be close to reaching an agreement with RCS & RDS to sell its mobile services division in Romania, an interesting change in the situation compared to a few months ago, when DIGI did not really want to make the purchase. RCS & RDS then only wanted to buy the mobile services division without customers, which of course leaves millions of people "up in the air", but now those from ZF I argue that in fact the groups would be close to reaching an agreement regarding the sale.

Telekom has already reached an agreement with Orange for the sale of the fixed services division, this being revealed in the fall of 2019, representatives of both groups already discussing with the government led by Ludovic Orban. Telekom would have liked to have already sold the fixed services division to Orange, but the Orban government is busy with other things, and is in the interim, so it cannot approve such a thing, just as it cannot approve the sale to RCS & RDS for the time being.

RCS & RDS and Orange would pay around 600-800 million euros for the two divisions, or at least that's what the news source claims, but the amount is unusually small for what should be taken over. Telekom has revenues of a billion euros annually, enough debts, but still, the millions of customers, in the infrastructure, the contracts with various companies, and the state, should bring more to the accounts of the German group from RCS & RDS and Orange for sale .

"The German group Deutsche Telekom wants to sell the telecom business in Romania, it almost reached an agreement with the buyers - Orange for fixed telephony (Romtelecom) and Digi for mobile telephony, but the current interim government and the Ministry of Transport leave things up in the air. State of the Government. Between 600-800 million euros are at stake."

However, Telekom is forced to go through new problems with the loss of stations from the Discovery group, and a new price increase for customers, until the sale to RCS & RDS and Orange. Despite these things, Telekom is now very focused on profit, apparently at any cost, probably also to obtain serious sums from RCS & RDS and Orange when both divisions will be finally sold.

Telekom might also have to wait for an approval from the European Commission to sell its divisions to RCS & RDS and Orange, and this is because it is about millions of customers who change their "master".
