Google made an extremely important announcement for all phones with the Android operating system, and this in the conditions where the American company discovered an extremely big problem with some models. More precisely, Google discovered that all Android phones based on MediaTek chips, with processors and more, have an extremely serious security problem that allows them to be compromised, and of course it has already solved it.

Google announced the problem through the security patch for Android that it released for the month of March, and unfortunately we are talking about a problem that affects many phones, at least from China. According to the information that Google has published, almost all phones, tablets, and any kind of Android devices that have a 64-bit MediaTek chip have a vulnerability that allows rooting through the processor's firmware.

Google was it took several months to solve this security problem, and that's because it was waiting, most likely, for the device manufacturers to solve the problems themselves before imposing it in Android. The biggest problem is that although Google has solved the problem in Android, unfortunately device manufacturers need to offer it for their products, and since we are talking about China here, that has little chance of happening.

Google solved this vulnerability because it allows hackers to install any applications remotely, take administrator privileges, and do whatever the owner of the phone does, and even more. MediaTek solved the problem in May 2019, but it seems that the phone manufacturers did not bother to apply the patches, for obvious reasons for China, so Google intervened, but even so, this does not guarantee that many manufacturers will do the right thing.

Google is struggling to convince phone manufacturers to offer updates as quickly as possible for Android, unfortunately they refuse, but the good part is that the vast majority of affected terminals are in Asia.
