Apple would have taken the decision to cancel the conference for the launch of the iPhone 9, and the basis of this is the Coronavirus, but not in connection with reduced stocks, but with the fact that the press cannot be invited to the event to learn about the phone and see it.
The iPhone 9 should have been presented this month by Apple, most likely at its campus in Cupertino, but it seems that the physical event will no longer take place, but an online one is not excluded at this point.
32 cases of infection with the Coronavirus were confirmed in the area where Apple has its campus, so it was normal to take the decision not to organize such an event in order to risk infecting an even greater number of people.
The iPhone 9 could just as well be presented in a conference where only Apple employees will applaud, with phones sent to the press for testing, and released in stores at a later date, as has happened with other models.
