The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, is currently announcing the establishment of the state of emergency in our country, which will enter into force after the publication of the establishment decree in the Official Gazette, as well as some of the measures that will be taken starting today.

Klaus Iohannis announced on Saturday that starting today a state of emergency will be established in Romania to make the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus more efficient, but also to help companies in the country to get through this difficult economic period more easily.

Some of the measures that Klaus Iohannis will impose by establishing the state of emergency have already been announced, you don't need to be scared because there are no travel restrictions or restrictions on food, fuel, etc. purchases.

Some of the measures taken by Romania by establishing the state of emergency:

  1. Schools and universities remain closed during the entire period of the state of emergency;
  2. If necessary, the prices of medicines and medical equipment, of strictly necessary food, and of energy, fuels, utilities, can be increased, within the limit of the average price of the last 3 months before the declaration of the state of emergency;
  3. Employees and employers will be supported through exemptions from local legislation.
  4. The Local Police comes under the command of the MAI;
  5. The government can adopt measures to support companies affected by the Coronavirus epidemic;
  6. All people infected with the Coronavirus on the territory of Romania will be treated free of charge in medical facilities;
  7. The judicial activity will continue only in cases of special urgency;
  8. The controls made by ITM are suspended;
  9. Continuity of public utility services will be ensured.
  10. Restaurants, cafes, clubs, hotels can be temporarily closed;
  11. It is possible to temporarily close, if necessary, road, rail, air, naval traffic on different routes;
  12. If necessary, the requisition of stocks, production and distribution capacities for medicines and equipment;
