The Romanian Police announced yesterday that they are suspending the taking of driving tests, whether it is the practical or theoretical test, throughout the country due to the Coronavirus, all for a period of 30 days, as long as the state of expedite.

The Romanian Police had already announced last week that it limits access to the institutions that deal with registrations and issuing driving licenses only based on online scheduling, but now they are going even further, and suspending the driving exams for candidates.

"The Driving License and Vehicle Registration Regime Directorate informs that, starting from 17.03.2020, the examination activity for obtaining the driving license, the theoretical test and the practical test, at the national level, is suspended for a period of 30 days, with the possibility of extension depending on the evolution of the current situation.

The people scheduled during this period will be rescheduled later, with timely information by the community public services, through the website www.drpciv.ro, the websites of the Prefect's Institution and with the support of the central and local media.

Additional details will be communicated at the end of the period of suspension and/or termination of the state of emergency, at the national level.

Also, in order to comply with the measures regarding the avoidance of overcrowding at counters and the disinfection of areas/spaces intended for the public, the working hours with the public will be extended at all territorial community public services until 19.00.
