"Events that defy government guidelines on social distancing are not allowed on Facebook. Unless the government bans the event during this time, we allow it to be held on Facebook. It's important for people to be able to debate politics so that there's a line in that, more so than normal political discourse. I think a lot of the things people say that are false around a health emergency can be classified as harmful misinformation. Since January, Facebook has said it is removing claims that are "designed to discourage treatment or taking appropriate precautions."
Facebook is used by many to promote these types of events that completely violate the rules regarding social distancing, and some of the dignitaries in the US support the violation of the rules, so the measure is a very important one.
