Facebook has seen large increases in the level of use of its services during the coronavirus pandemic, with the company officially revealing this week how many people were active each day on its platforms.

Facebook claims that 1.73 billion users were active on its social network during the Coronavirus pandemic, 70 million more than during the winter holidays, so the world was "connected" to the network quite a lot.

However, Facebook registered 2.36 billion daily active users in all Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp platforms, the figure being a very large one, and representing somewhere around a third of the entire population of the planet.

Facebook still has 3 billion monthly active users on all its platforms, so over a third of the planet's population, this being a record for it, but not one we didn't expect at a time when a lot of people are desperately looking for information on the internet.

"Our business has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and, like all companies, we are facing a period of unprecedented uncertainty in our business outlook. We expect our business performance to be affected by matters beyond our control, including the duration and effectiveness of shelter orders, the effectiveness of economic stimulus around the world and currency fluctuations relative to the U.S. dollar.”

Facebook has announced since February that it is struggling to keep its services active during the Coronavirus pandemic because there is a very high level of activity, and now we know how many people were active daily and monthly in all its platforms.
