The Romanian Post will send you an SMS when the package from China arrives

Romanian post sms china

The Romanian Post, whether you want to believe it or not, starts sending SMS for customers the moment the simple shipments arrive from China, and of course everything works initially only in 14 post offices in Bucharest, plus others in Popesti-Leordeni and Bragadiru.

The Romanian Post remained in the stone age of the courier because of the investments that were not made for modernization, but once every few years there is some good news, and maybe in a few decades the courier companies will catch up and for fast delivery.

"Bucharest, May 7, 2020 - The Romanian National Post Company has introduced, in its portfolio, the SMS alert service for simple shipments arriving from China. Thus, customers are notified, through a message received on their mobile phone, about the date and time of parcel delivery to the postal subunits.

The SMS customer alert system works, to begin with, in 14 post offices in Bucharest (Offices 56, 15, 30, 63, 72, 53, 11, 51, 69, 16, 74, 76, 32 and 18), but and in the post offices in the cities of Popești-Leordeni and Bragadiru, and it will be extended, in stages, in the rest of the postal subunits as well.

The "SMS notification of China shipments" service is used in the situation where the postal agents fail to deliver parcels at home, for various reasons (bulky parcels, uninsured mailboxes, the recipient is not found at home, etc.)

The message received by the customer contains data about the shipment number, the number of the post office where the customer can pick it up, but also the time interval in which he can present himself to make the handover at the counter.

"The service has already been working for two months, in some offices, and the feedback received from customers is very good. There was also an increase in the number of submissions submitted. We are constantly trying to improve the quality of the services offered and develop new products to meet the needs of our customers", said Horia Grigorescu, General Director of the Romanian Post."
