iPhone 12 has announced that it will be launched with a very good surprise for all customers around the world, and this in the conditions where the expectations are already very high for the new series of devices that will be presented sometime in the fall.

The iPhone 12 is to be launched with a Qualcomm X60 modem, instead of the X55, and these should be integrated into the A14 chips that will go into production at TSMC this month using a 5nm manufacturing process.

iPhone 12 would benefit, thanks to this modem, from the possibility of working both in 5G mmWave networks and in those with frequencies below 6 GHz, they being much more efficient from an energy point of view compared to the X55.

"TSMC will begin manufacturing custom A14 SoCs and Qualcomm's X60 5G modem chips, both set to power future iPhones slated for release later in 2020 using 5nm process technology in June, according to industry sources."
