Today, the Romanian Police made an announcement that took many Romanians by surprise, and this is because the authorities succeeded in breaking up a network of 59 people who specialized in stealing luxury products that arrived on planes leaving Romania.
The Romanian Police participated in an investigation as a result of which employees of ISU, of the company Aeroporturi Bucharest, and more were arrested, managing to steal products worth almost 800.000 euros before being caught by the authorities.
"From the administered evidence, it was reasonable to assume that several employees of a commercial company would have stolen or appropriated food products, cosmetics, perfumes, leather products, jewelry, watches and other products intended for sale on board aircraft.
The goods in question would have been sold by other persons, who would have had knowledge of their illicit origin.
Searches are carried out under the coordination of the Bucharest Military Prosecutor's Office. 28 searches took place in Bucharest and Ilfov, and the persons in question are to be brought to hearings. Given that the file is with us, among the targeted persons there are also soldiers."
