CERT-RO: WARNING for Facebook Users from Romania

CERT-RO ATTENTION Facebook users Romania

CERT-RO issued today a very important warning for all Romanians who are active in the Facebook social network, and this is because a very dangerous phishing attack is currently underway.

"A new #phishing campaign targeting Facebook users is spreading on...Facebook!

One of the preferred methods of attackers in spreading malicious content is to create fake messages, emails or even pages that look (visually) similar to a legitimate notification.

Moreover, without careful analysis of the message's provenance, such campaigns can be persuasive. As can be seen from the screenshots of the pages that promoted such content, the posted message was aimed at making the user impatient about having their personal account blocked for spreading false information or fraud.

To reactivate it, the attackers included in the text a link leading to a phishing site, where Facebook account credentials were collected: https://urlscan.io/res…/b9a19870-5fc4-4c41-9e4b- 3193e24ec87c

The recommendation of the CERT-RO team is, first of all, not to act impulsively in the online environment and to carefully read the text of the messages or notifications we receive. If in doubt, let's check the links or attachments we're about to access with a security solution. If you have fallen victim to such a trap, we recommend that you write to alerts@cert.ro or send us a message on our social media accounts!"
