UBER today announced the launch of the Comfort service in our country as well, the company behind the ridesharing platform finally offering this transport option, including for us.
"July 21, 2020 – Whether it's the way to the office and back home, a business meeting or a weekend outing, Uber users in Romania have a new travel option from today, which ensures a more convenient trip comfortable. In addition to UberX, Uber Select or Green, they can now select the "Comfort" option in the app and enjoy rides in comfortable cars with highly rated drivers at the touch of a button. The service will be available in Bucharest, Cluj, Timișoara, Brașov and Iași.
Passengers who choose the new service will enjoy rides by experienced, highly rated drivers and more comfortable vehicles with extra legroom, all at a slightly higher price than UberX rides (by approx. 20% higher).
Before the start of the ride, users can choose, directly from the app, how they want the ride to go. For example, they can choose between three temperature options and opt for a quiet ride. What's more, they will be waited by drivers for up to 10 minutes at the pick-up point for a small additional fee, so they don't have to rush to their destination.
In addition to the extremely simple process through which users can order such a ride, they will also benefit from all the other advantages of the app, such as transparent and accurate information about the price of the ride available before it starts, the easy way to pay, via the app or cash , and the many safety measures along with the driver and race information they have available. As with the other Uber services in Romania, both drivers and passengers must wear a mask during the journey and confirm that they have taken the necessary safety measures before the start of the ride.
Nicoleta Diaconu, Uber Romania General Manager, said: "With the new Uber Comfort option, users in Romania will have the opportunity to order rides in more comfortable vehicles, with drivers who have a very good rating and personalized services, at a price of only slightly higher than for UberX. We are excited to launch this service for all users who want to feel more comfortable during their journey and arrive at their destination more relaxed, while providing new sources of income for drivers with a good rating."
