Today, the Romanian Police issued an important warning to all citizens of Romania, which comes to tell us why we need to be careful when we are asked for information about our identity, and why we should not insist on not providing it.

The Romanian Police say that any of the Romanian citizens who refuse to provide data for identification can be taken to the station to be identified by the authorities, and this process is of course not to the liking of many in our country.

"The refusal of a person to provide data to establish his identity or to present himself at the police headquarters, at the request or at the justified invitation of the criminal investigation bodies or of the public order bodies, in the exercise of their duties, constitutes a contravention.

The policeman is entitled to take a person to the police headquarters, when his identity could not be established or there are credible reasons to suspect that the declared identity is not real or the documents presented are not true."
