Huawei: The HISTORICAL decision, what to do with the New Phone Models

Huawei made a historic decision for its new phone models, here's what the company decided to do, and how much it changes everything.

Huawei waiver

Huawei announced yesterday a historic decision for the future phone models that they are currently working on, and of course everything has to do with the sanctions imposed by the USA. Those from Huawei have confirmed the fact that the phones released after the Huawei Mate 40 series will no longer have Kirin chips, which can no longer be produced by the company at the highest quality standards because TSMC stops collaborating with it.

Huawei manufactures all its chips for phones at TSMC, a Taiwanese company that is a leader in the manufacture of microprocessors, and not only that, it is also the exclusive manufacturer of processors for iPhone, iPad, etc. Donald Trump imposed a series of new sanctions against Huawei that forbid the TSMC company to produce its processors, and following this decision the Chinese announced that they will no longer produce Kirin processors for their own phones and tablets.

Huawei: The HISTORICAL decision, what it will do for the New Phones

Huawei it will no longer have processors for phones and tablets produced after September 15, when the new US sanctions come into force, so the situation becomes serious from then on. For now, it is not known where Huawei will buy processors for phones and tablets for future phone models, but Qualcomm is the only solution, but the American company needs Donald Trump's permission to collaborate with the Chinese.

Huawei can hope that Donald Trump will leave the White House after the presidential elections in the USA, in the fall, but if this does not happen, then the sanctions imposed against him will not disappear soon. This means that Huawei will have to find a real alternative to TSMC in order to be able to equip its phones and tablets from 2021 with the latest generation processors, but this will not be so easy because the solutions are quite few.

Huawei is currently the largest producer of phones in the whole world, managing to surpass even Samsung in sales, thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic.
