Raed Arafat: reopening restaurants is still not recommended

Raed Arafat, the head of the DSU, makes an announcement today that will most certainly upset many Romanians, but he comes in the context where people's health matters more, and the Coronavirus pandemic has not yet disappeared from Romania, so there is a need hard measures to follow.

Raed Arafat does not recommend the reopening of restaurants in Romania, something that was to be expected if we consider the fact that there are still many new confirmed cases every day, but all this after just yesterday Ludovic Orban said that this reopening will be analyzed by the CNSU.

"The pandemic is not over and we may even find that we haven't even seen the worst of this pandemic. I mean, things can get even worse. In winter it will be worse. The appearance of viruses also means difficulties in diagnosis. Some may have both, which is why we recommend seasonal flu vaccination. (…) We do not have an obvious decrease for now. At any moment it can get worse and escalate, especially if the rules are not followed. Now we see a decrease, but it is possible that during the fall, when people return to work, schools, they will lead to an increase.Ț
