Raed Arafat is again at the center of a scandal after information appeared in the media according to which the head of DSU was investigated by DNA prosecutors due to some purchases made in the health sector during the Coronavirus pandemic, but this is not true, according to the PICCJ .
Raed Arafat asked the PICCJ prosecutors about the possible pending cases in which he would be a suspect or defendant, and they replied that there were none, the head of the DSU trying to prove the fact that during the Coronavirus pandemic he acted correctly in Romania .
"As a result of the continuous attacks brought to my address, disseminated to public opinion by the television station Romania TV, through which, based on information that would have been given by sources, my name would appear in corruption files instrumented by the DNA, I submitted last week, I addressed it to the National Anticorruption Directorate in order to establish whether I am a suspect or a defendant in any criminal case pending before the previously mentioned institution.
Today, following the DNA answer, which I attach below, it is clearly established that my name does NOT appear associated with any quality of suspect or defendant in the criminal cases instrumented by the National Anticorruption Directorate.
I want to thank the other media representatives who did not take this unproven, untrue information, which has the obvious role of damaging my public image."
