OPPO Released Color OS 11 for Phones Worldwide

OPPO ColorOS 11

OPPO, one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world, has released Color OS 11, a new version of the software that makes the Android experience better, it comes with the update to Android 11.

"September 14, 2020, Bucharest - OPPO, one of the largest international companies in the technology market, today launched ColorOS 11 through an online press conference. OPPO marks an important point in history, the brand being the first manufacturer of original operating systems (OEM OSes) to offer users the latest version of Android 11. Thanks to the concept of "Make Life Flow", ColorOS 11 retains the beloved features offered by Android, while OPPO's specially developed additions to the interface enhance the user experience. The quick release of ColorOS 11, which follows Google's Android 11 announcement, is the result of a close collaboration between the two companies.

Customizing the interface offers more possibilities to explore

ColorOS 11 offers an unprecedented level of interface customization, through which users have countless possibilities to explore and personalize their experience. Thus, users can set their own Always on Display mode, wallpapers, fonts, icons or ringtones. The latest version also adds to Android's night mode stock thanks to its three color schemes and contrast levels. At the same time, OPPO Relax 2.0 allows users to create their own mix of white noise/relaxing sounds and offers a wide and immersive collection of sounds from cities around the world.

"ColorOS 11's attention to interface customization is based on users' desire to have a unique experience," said Lynn Ni, Design Project Lead of OPPO ColorOS. “The ColorOS team has taken into account user feedback on further customization of the interface, encompassing a wide range of features. Thus, we offer them a vast space in which to harness their creativity and exercise control over their smartphone.”

Improved efficiency

ColorOS 11 is equipped with a number of robust features that improve both work and life efficiency. Among them is the instant translation function by pressing the screen with 3 fingers, available through Google Lens, the first function created by OPPO and Google. It captures and translates texts with the help of a single screenshot made using three fingers.

Flexdrop, another new feature, offers a simple and intuitive solution for multi-tasking. Users can thus watch a video and write a message at the same time, which is extremely useful for gamers and video content enthusiasts. Users can also control and switch between different smart home devices through the new Device Control menu without having to install additional apps.

To optimize the available battery level, the new Super Power Saving mode allows users to choose six apps to run when the battery level is low. At the same time, Battery Guard prevents damage caused by prolonged charging at an unstable voltage by learning the user's habits. During the night, charging stops when it reaches 80% and resumes before the user wakes up.

"Make Life Flow" - flawless functionality

Although the ever-faster image refresh rate is an industry advance, smartphones often suffer from lag issues as a result. To combat this, ColorOS 11 introduced UI First 2.0, which combines the lag reduction engine developed by OPPO and Quantum Animation. This increases RAM usage by 45%, improves response rate by 32% and frame rate by 17%.

AI App Preloading learns user habits to preload the most used apps, thus minimizing waiting time. SuperTouch also identifies usage scenarios and optimizes the speed of reaction time accordingly, while improving the system's legibility.

Increased attention to data security and privacy

ColorOS 11 incorporates the latest stock options of the Android 11 version while creating a number of additional privacy protection and data security features. Private System duplicates applications and data, creating an independent copy of the original information that can only be accessed via a fingerprint scan or an additional password.

The new shortcut to App Lock allows users to lock their apps using a password, fingerprint or facial recognition. The permissions system has also been improved with temporary permissions, which reset access to the camera, microphone and location when the app is closed. At the same time, the auto-reset feature restores an app's default permission settings when it hasn't been used for a long time. To prevent malicious apps from accessing other apps' data, limited storage restricts apps' access to phone data by asking for user permission.

The fastest and broadest release in ColorOS history

The current release of the ColorOS 11 beta version invites tech-savvy users to explore the new features and provide feedback, with the official version set to be released in the coming weeks.

ColorOS 11 will be released using the batch-by-batch approach, starting with the Find X2 and Reno3 series. The full launch will include Find, Reno and A series smartphone models.”
