UBER is the largest ridesharing platform currently available worldwide, with many rides done daily with its users, and recently the company announced a policy to force drivers to wear masks during rides. Well, this policy is starting to be imposed now by the American company, and based on it, it decided to ban 1250 drivers from accessing its application because they refused to wear masks during the races.
UBER implemented in the application dedicated to drivers a special function designed to scan their faces to detect whether they are wearing a mask or not, when they are racing, and it was the reason why they can no longer access the platform now. UBER presented this new system within its application more than a week ago, and this week it decided to impose it on drivers from the US and Canada, two countries with a lot of daily trips.

UBER imposes this policy in order to compel drivers to learn to protect those with whom they ride, but there is also a similar system for passengers that prohibits them from getting into cars. UBER also has the same system for the application of regular users that checks the wearing of the mask inside the car, and if the user refuses to do the check, he will not be able to start the race from the very beginning, and if he takes off his mask during the race and the driver reports it, will be denied access to the UBER application.
UBER apply some extremely good measures for customers and drivers, and this is because everyone needs to protect themselves, regardless of whether they believe in the Coronavirus or not, anyone can be infected anyway. In this idea, the UBER policy should be imposed with an iron fist in all the countries where the company operates, even if the local employees do not believe in the existence of the Coronavirus, but of course there is a need for surveillance for everyone.
UBER it has not yet brought this new function to Europe, unfortunately, and by the time it is offered in Romania, we will probably have the first vaccines available for use, so the wait has only just begun.
