Romania is going through a critical situation regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, the last two days bringing us record numbers of new infections, over 2000 in each of them, this being an unprecedented situation in Romania, but expected by the authorities from all the country.
Unfortunately, we also have increases in the number of people admitted to ATI, or the number of deaths, all because in recent weeks there have been many new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus, so that at some point it was expected that some of patients to pass into a serious condition.
The authorities expect these daily figures of more than 2000 new cases of infection with the new Coronavirus to continue in the next period, but from the middle of the month we could see another increase due to the local elections that were held last weekend in Romania.
"Until today, October 2, on the territory of Romania, 132.001 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed. 105.582 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 2.343 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
To date, 4.915 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
In the interval 01.10.2020 (10:00) - 02.10.2020 (10:00) were recorded 53 of deaths (36 men and 17 women), of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in hospitals in Alba, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Vâlcea, Vaslui, Ilfov and the City of Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 20-29 years, 1 in the age category 30-39 years, 10 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 15 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 11 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 15 deaths in the over 80 age category.
51 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities, and for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities have been reported so far.
In specialized health facilities, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7.795. Of these, 571 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 2.471.499 tests have been processed. Of these 26.011 were made in the last 24 hours, 15.436 based on case definition and medical protocol and 10.575 on demand.
On the territory of Romania, 10.697 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 7.452 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 23.138 people are in home quarantine, and 28 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 1.379 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 839 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially for informing citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 15.05.2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1.144 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 207.820 lei.
Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 crimes were found yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 of the Criminal Code."
