Romanian Government: Schools will not be closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic

The Government of Romania, through Prime Minister Ludovic Orban, tells us today that schools in Romania will not be closed completely due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and that the probability that most new cases will come from there is low, so there is no reason for them to be completely closed.

The Romanian government closed Romani schools in March, at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, but now the strategy is completely different, although two weeks after their reopening we have an increase of over 50% in the number of new cases registered daily in Romania.

"But from my point of view the children are safe at school, because they are with the teaching staff, with the educators, the teachers, the teachers who have the obligation to ensure compliance with the health protection rules and at least from what I have observed, if there are illnesses , the probability of these illnesses being at school is not very high.

From what I have observed, if there are illnesses, the probability that these illnesses will be at school is not very high. Children's right to education must be respected. Children need to go to school, to keep up with the subject, and it is precisely for this reason that we established this system, which takes into account the epidemiological situation in each local community."
