COVID-19 Romania, the effect of the new restriction measures is null

Beatrice Mahler, the manager of the Marius Nasta Institute in Bucharest, says that the effect of the new restrictive measures that have been imposed by the authorities in Romania to reduce the spread of COVID-19 is, for now, completely null, and this generates very big problems in hospitals, which they are still almost full.

Beatrice Mahler does not see any change after the imposition of these measures, but it is still too early to see any change in the rate of infections with COVID-19, the first results should only be seen somewhere around the end of the month, that of course if anything will be seen then.

"The situation in the hospital is the same, we work at maximum capacity every day. We have more than the number of patients we could normally have, we hardly find space in other hospitals. We manage to collaborate with colleagues from other hospitals. The effort must be even greater from everyone, because the pressure is still high on hospitals.

On the contrary, the number of symptomatic patients who come directly to the hospital for testing is increasing. The positivity rate in the laboratory of the Marius Nasta Institute is extremely high, almost half of the tests we do are positive, and this includes the patients who are re-evaluated."
