ING Bank made this change because of the Coronavirus pandemic, and this is because it wants to bring fewer customers to its branches just to solve a problem of this kind in order to have access to its services. ING Bank asks customers to fill out a form on its website to initiate the remote HomeBank activation procedure, this being only the first step in the entire process that the bank imposes. After completing that form, customers must check their emails to see if they have received any message from ING Bank regarding the initiation of the procedure to activate access to the platform, and from that point things move on.

ING Bank says that by email he will send the necessary information for the activation of access to HomeBank to be possible, everything being done by sending a code via SMS to the customers who requested the activation. The process itself also requires the establishment of a password to be used by ING Bank clients to access the account, so we are talking about a rather complex process, but which allows clients to have access to the platform without problems.

ING Bank offers this option to activate remote access to HomeBank for all those who do not yet have an active account, so the option is not offered to those who need it right now.
