Coronavirus Romania: New Cases, Healings from December 16, 2020

Coronavirus Romania Cases Healing December 16

The situation of the Coronavirus pandemic continues to be very serious in Romania, with many confirmed cases at a decreasing number of tests carried out by the authorities in Romania every day, these seem to show a situation that is improving, but it is only a false impression .

Yesterday, more than 200 deaths were registered in Romania, a huge number for our country, while the number of people hospitalized in intensive care remained at more than 1200, and this is due to the very large number of previously confirmed cases.

The Romanian authorities do not want to introduce new restrictions for Romanians, but they are not relaxing things at the moment either, so it remains to be seen what will happen in two weeks, when we could see if the local elections influence the pandemic situation.

"Until today, December 16, on the territory of Romania, 571.749 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

469.499 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5.991 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
