Facebook: New Login Security Measures announced for users

Facebook will implement new login security measures for users around the world, something that comes as extremely good news for many of those who use the social network constantly, even if the measure is imposed quite late.

Facebook will allow users to create physical security keys that they can use to log into the social network, and here we are talking about USB sticks that people will be able to insert into PCs to authorize in platform.

Facebook will require the registration of these physical security keys before they can be used to log into accounts, so the process will not be a simple one, but this is not something we have not seen before on other online platforms available around the world.

Facebook is taking a measure here that we have seen applied in other countries, so it should not be surprising that it is decided to use it in this situation as well to help users benefit from an advanced security system for their accounts.

Facebook Inc said on Tuesday it will begin allowing users to set up physical security keys as a way to verify their identity before logging into the social network's mobile app starting next year. The company currently offers an option to require a hardware security key to connect to a desktop computer before each login. The world's largest social network said it also plans to expand Facebook Protect — its security program for high-profile accounts, including election candidates — to more account types worldwide next year."

Facebook will also expand the Facebook Protect system, which was designed for celebrities who have accounts on the social network, so it will not affect in any way how ordinary people interact with the platform in the future.
