Coronavirus: Romania wants to vaccinate 20.000 people daily from tomorrow

Coronavirus Romania vaccinates 20.000 people daily tomorrow

Valeriu Gheorghita, the man who leads the vaccination campaign against the Corona virus in Romania, announced that from January 4th, it is desired to vaccinate more than 20.000 Romanians every day with the reopening of 90% of the first 370 vaccination centers.

Romania has so far vaccinated a maximum of 5000 Romanians per day, before the New Year, but the numbers started to decrease, as expected, but from January 4, the vaccination against the Coronavirus should increase at an accelerated rate in the medical personnel, and not only.

"It should be mentioned that today we have 13.200 vaccinated people and another very important thing, the vaccination activity was started in a relatively small number of vaccination centers. There are about 47 vaccination centers that have been active in these last days, starting with the first 10 centers in those first-line medical units and later the other vaccination centers also became active.

But from Monday, January 4, the activity will be started in over 90% of the 370 vaccination centers intended for medical personnel, which should provide us with a real picture of the vaccination rate in Romania. I believe that the number will be much higher and we will be able to cover in a relatively short time at least until the middle of January most of the medico-social staff (...) From January 4, 5, 6 we should have the at least 20 thousand people vaccinated per day."
