DIGI Romania is at the center of a very important official announcement from the authorities in Romania, which revealed extremely good news for millions of Romanians all over the country, but it does not solve a big problem. More precisely, the people from DIGI Romania managed to increase their GSM coverage in Romania in the last year, and this in a surprisingly high percentage for a project of this kind, but with all that it did not solve a big problem.
DIGI Romania has extended GSM coverage in several areas in Romania, and offers better coverage inside buildings, but unfortunately it has not solved the big problem of the performance that its customers benefit from. More precisely, although DIGI Romania now has better coverage in Romania, the problem remains that it offers very, very, poor internet speeds for customers, even in cities where it has good 4G coverage, which is not ideal.

DIGI Romania it still has a 4G network with maximum speeds of 100 Mbps in Romania at the moment, but this only in certain areas, in others the maximum speed is 75 Mbps, and in the case of 3G the speeds are only 15 Mbps. For the year 2021, these speeds are extremely low, they are typical for the launch of 4G networks in 2014/2015, but since then DIGI Romania has not evolved in terms of the performance of its networks on the mobile internet side in Romania.
DIGI Romania it improved its GSM coverage, created a 5G network in Romania, but on the mobile internet speed side, it remained at the level of the launch of 4G networks, and the chances of this changing are zero. Those from DIGI Romania want to invest in 5G now, without looking at improving 4G because they don't even have the logic to do that in 2021, the future being the 5G network that is already present in some areas of Romania.
DIGI Romania will focus on 5G, which anyway offers much, much higher speeds than those of 4G networks, so it will try to make its future network based on them, and leave the current infrastructure as it is.
