Telekom RAISES Prices for Romanian Customers Again

Telekom has announced to its customers that it will again increase the prices for the services it offers, here is how much they will increase, and from what date.

telecom price increase

Telekom, one of the largest telecommunications groups in Romania, has announced a new increase in subscription prices for the services it provides to customers all over Romania. The increases will take place before the sale of Telekom's fixed services division to Orange, that is from March 1, some of the customers having already been notified about the price changes that will take place, and of course not everyone is happy with what is happening .

Telekom says that this price increase is necessary to be able to support the infrastructure on which its services operate, but also to increase their quality, even though it offered many discounts for customers in 2020. Those discounts are now covered by price increases for some between services, and the news is bad for Telekom customers, but the switch to Orange could also bring other increases, which was to be expected anyway.

Telekom RAISES Prices for Romanian Customers Again

Telekom says that the prices for fixed telephone, internet, television services will be increased by 0.6 euros, the same being done for mobile services, although some customers received discounts for the latter. These price increases made by Telekom come only a year away after other increases were applied, and this is the third increase made at the beginning of a year since 2019, but it is probably the last.

Telekom increased prices in 2019 after the adoption of the famous emergency ordinance that brought higher operating costs for telecommunications companies, and in 2020 also to be able to support the operation of services. Now in 2021 we are talking about this third change before the fixed services division is sold to Orange, but it is not known exactly when this very important transaction for the operator could be completed.

Telekom will remain with the fixed services division in Romania from 2021, most likely, and considering the very low subscription prices, it would not be a big surprise if a new price increase is announced in 2022.
