The Ministry of Health revealed today how many Romanians became infected after being vaccinated against the Coronavirus with just one dose, and of the more than 700.000 vaccinated people, 3500 were found to be infected after the first dose, the percentage being typical for the level of effectiveness.
The Ministry of Health registered these infections before the second dose was given, and usually these infections are detected because the vaccinated person is infected, but without knowing it, but shows some symptoms shortly after vaccination, or is detected at a routine test.
"There are about 3.500 - 3.600 people who developed SARS-CoV-2 infection after the first dose. It is, moreover, the main reason why these people did not show up for the booster dose, as they were programmed in the platform.
There are a few, very few cases. But from the point of view of numbers, there are basically 3.500-3.600 people in total, which is a very small number compared to almost 700.000 people already vaccinated."
