Facebook, the company that owns the largest social network, the largest messaging platform, and several other huge platforms, has officially announced the launch of Instagram Lite, an application dedicated to developing countries, where the Internet is not so great .
Facebook launched Instagram Lite as a solution for those who have very weak internet connections to use its platform, the application being a substantially compressed version of the official version, all thanks to moving many internal elements to the Instagram servers.
Facebook is not the first Lite application, they are thought mainly for Africa, where the internet is available in very few areas, and with extremely low speeds, these types of applications helping people to access online platforms even in these conditions.
“This new Android app is designed to give people living in rural and remote communities a high-quality Instagram experience using minimal data. Our teams build these lightweight versions of our apps for people with limited connectivity or limited data plans because our core premise is to leave no one behind.
We wanted the Instagram experience to remain fast, high-quality and reliable, regardless of device, platform and network.”
