Huawei: The P50 phone will not launch with Android preinstalled

Huawei made a completely surprising decision regarding the P50 series phones, this is why they will not have Android pre-installed at launch.

Huawei is preparing to announce one of the most unexpected decisions so far from the Chinese company, more precisely, it seems that the next series of Chinese phones, the P50, is going to come without Android. This is the information now coming from China, where the P50 series is ready to be launched in mid-April, and Huawei wants to finally make the radical change it has been working on for more than a year.

Huawei wants to launch phones from the P50 series only with Harmony OS installed, without Android, although I have already said it repeatedly that this "new" operating system is actually just a slightly modified Android. This means that, theoretically, if the measure is implemented, then Huawei will force everyone to use Harmony OS instead of Android, at least on a theoretical level, because practically it is the same thing, and the Google Play Store will be all unavailable.

Huawei they could still impose this change only in China, where the world doesn't know about many Google services anyway, so Harmony OS instead of Android wouldn't be a big change for them. However, I don't think that the situation will be the same in the rest of the world, and that's because Huawei knows very well how important Android is for people in various other areas of the globe, and that Harmony OS will not be viewed with very good eyes by all his clients.

Huawei could decide to offer Android in the rest of the countries separately from China, and maybe a few others in Asia, but for now there are not many details about the final plan that will be implemented. The fact is that Huawei has already finished testing Harmony OS in beta 2 on the P50, and is moving on to testing beta 3, so it is clear that the operating system will be integrated into the phones, it remains to be seen how complex everything will be, and how much the world will be pleased.

Huawei chooses to switch to Harmony OS to have more control over the operating system in its phones, but that is not necessarily the best possible decision.
