Government of Romania: Measures Decided for Dozens of Counties in Romania

The Government of Romania decided measures Romania counties

The Government of Romania, through the Prime Minister, Florin Citu, tells us today that in Romania the decision has been taken to strengthen the preventive measures against the Coronavirus, so it is expected that some new ones will be announced, and those that are in force will be imposed with more authority big.

The Romanian government is trying to control the number of new cases of Coronavirus that are registered in our country because the incidence rates are increasing daily in many areas, and because a small, but vocal, number of people continue to challenge them.

"Today I asked the representatives of the Government in the territory to take all the necessary measures to impose strict compliance with the rules we have in force. If the current measures are respected by everyone, no further restrictions would be needed to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2.
We see in 30 counties and in Bucharest a continuous increase in incidence and, every day, we have new localities in the red zone, because a minority prefers not to follow the rules. We will ensure that more and more will comply, so that the majority of rule-abiding citizens are not affected by the behavior of others.
We also analyzed with the representatives of the local authorities in Bucharest solutions to ensure that the rules for preventing the spread of the virus are respected on the street, in means of transport, in shopping centers, at terraces and restaurants, in schools, in public institutions and at the place of the work.
Lately, we have noticed an impermissible relaxation if we want to keep the pandemic under control. It is our duty to ensure that the measures are respected in all cases, as they have proven their effectiveness. We want to avoid quarantine, so as not to affect economic activities even more.
There is clearly a need for greater involvement of the authorities in informing the population about the vaccination campaign and the measures we have followed and must continue to follow.
But let's keep in mind that we are facing a new wave of the pandemic, with more easily transmissible strains of the coronavirus. We need to persevere in the coming weeks, because in April and May, Romania will receive several million more doses of the anti-Covid vaccine, after which we will be able to slow the progression of the disease by continuing the vaccination campaign in force."
