Government of Romania Increase Vaccination Capacity

The Romanian government announced today a very big change in the vaccination strategy in our country, and this is because the number of people who will be vaccinated in each center will increase by 50% from 60 people per day to 90 people per day, that is, based on the current figures, more than 70.000 vaccinations should be reached daily.

The Romanian government also announced that 125 more vaccination centers will be opened across the country, so more than 10.000 people should be able to be vaccinated every day by vaccination centers across the country following these important changes.

"Valeriu Gheorghiţă, president of the National Committee for the Coordination of Activities regarding Vaccination against COVID-19:
 Starting from April 1, each vaccination center configured in the scheduling platform will have the type of vaccine displayed. Anyone who makes an appointment at a vaccination center, or chooses to go on the waiting list, will know from the beginning what kind of vaccine is distributed at that center.
 Starting from April 6, the number of vaccinated people in each office will increase. During the twelve hours of the work schedule, the vaccination capacity of each center will increase from 60 to 90 people per day.
 From April 13, another 125 new vaccination clinics with BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine will be opened.
 In April, the vaccination activities will start with mobile centers for localities with a high cumulative incidence of cases, respectively rural localities, disadvantaged localities that do not have a family doctor.
 Preparations begin for the inclusion of family doctors in the vaccination campaign, through their own family medicine offices, where vaccines from Johnson&Johnson and AstraZeneca will be distributed. Each family doctor will evaluate his own list of patients he has in the district and will take priority over the elderly, people with chronic diseases from the list, so that we can ensure the vaccination of these categories of people as quickly as possible."
